This Whanau Trust administers the estate of Uncle Riki Te Mairaki Ellison Taiaroa. This includes the lands and interests inherited from his great uncle Dick (Riki Te Mairaki) Taiaroa and those which uncle Riki acquired himself during his lifetime.The beneficiaries are the descendants of Poua Hori Kerei Taiaroa and Taua Tini Burns. The trustees, who are also all descendants, manage the Trust in accordance with the Trust Deed.
The aims of this Trust are:
- To administer the assets of the Trust on behalf of the beneficiaries
- To support the social, educational and cultural aspirations of the beneficiaries
- To promote whanaungatanga and maintain the mana of Hori Kerei Taiaroa and Tini Burns
